Kendriya Vidyalaya are the co-educational institute established in 1963 to provide educational facilities to the children of Defence personnel ,transferable Central Government employees ,employees of autonomous bodies etc. These Vidyalaya are run by KVS, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Human Resource Development ,Government of India. There are more than 1200 Kendriya Vidyalaya all over India and abroad.

The Kendriya Vidyalaya Rishikesh was established in the year 2003. Vidyalaya is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi and provides education from Class I to XII having Science and Humanities stream at Senior Secondary level
